Harborough District Council to debate Climate emergency report

21 June 2019

On Monday the 24th at 6.30 PM the council meeting is due to debate an officers report as to whether they should declare a Climate emergency in the footprints of many local councils including Leicestershire County Council who declared a Climate Emergency last month.

Local Green Party activist Darren Woodiwiss welcomed the move adding "As our councils rules do not allow for the public to submit motions, back in February I sent a copy of a model motion to my Welland ward councillors and asked that they present it to the council. I hope that this will be the start of a real effort to tackle our climate emergency"

The meeting agenda is here and the officers report is item12.
